Our harvests have been suspended since mid-March. We’re in conversation about how to open up an all volunteer operation while safeguarding the health of our tree donors and volunteers. We will experiment with a few small, tightly managed harvests as we continue to track the guidelines issued by Contra Costa County regarding social distancing.
In the meantime, if you have intact fruit which you can harvest and deliver yourselves, please consider donating to:
1. The Contra Costa County Food Bank, 410 Nelson Avenue, Concord
2. White Pony Express, 3380 Vincent Road, Pleasant Hill
3. Open Heart Kitchen, 5200 Case Avenue, Pleasanton
We appreciate your efforts.
We all are community.
We are a grassroots, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in the East Bay of San Francisco. Our goal is to build a community-based, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable model of hunger relief.
We help people share their excess backyard fruit. We believe no one should suffer from lack of food. We also believe the poor and the hungry in your community are as important as the ones in our community. We have developed tools, methods, and procedures that are portable. We can help you start a local gleaning chapter quickly and economically. Come join!
